Are you interested in becoming a Freemason?

Although Freemasonry is multi-denominational and secular, all candidates for membership must declare a belief in a Supreme Being. All candidates must also be of demonstrable good character.

The qualifying age for Freemasonry has over recent years has been lowered  to 18 years of age by The United Grand Lodge of England. Previously it was 21.

Please be aware that the Lodge of St. Augustine is governed by the Constitutions of the United Grand Lodge of England which, following the example of the medieval 'operative' stonemasons, continues to be restricted to men. Women Freemasons have two separate Grand Lodges which are restricted to women.

Anyone interested in further information about Freemasonry for women should contact either The Grand Secretary, The Honourable Fraternity of Ancient Freemasons, 402 Finchley Road, Childs Hill, London NW2 2HR, telephone: 0207 443 5268 or The Grand Secretary, The Order of Women Freemasons, 27 Pembridge Gardens, London, W2 4EF, telephone: 0207 229 2368.
